Dreamy Claisebrook Elopement
After being together for exactly 8 years (to the day!) Kate & Carl eloped surrounded by the stunning trees and waterways of Claisebrook cove with their two best friends as a witness.

What made you choose to elope?
We’ve never been that couple that likes all eyes on us, so the thought of a big wedding was quite overwhelming for us. We thought we’d be more in the moment if it was just us, which we definitely were. Best decision ever!
Let’s talk planning - Did you have a plan of attack?
Eloping made planning such a breeze. We needed two witnesses, so we decided to invite our two best friends. They stayed with us at the Ritz, along with their partners, and we made a weekend out of it. Eloping was far cheaper than a traditional wedding, so we stayed well within our budget and even had some left over to go towards our US honeymoon next year.
What was your vision for the day and how did you choose your style?
We wanted simple and timeless, which is why we went with blacks, whites and greens. We want to be able to look back on our photos in 10 years time and not regret including any ‘trends’ that just wasn’t us. I’m so glad we stuck to what we know and love.
What drew you to Miller Rose Botanic?
I contacted Miller Rose Botanic initially because of their focus on sustainability, but after speaking with Tahnee, there was no looking back. Given only a handful of us were going to enjoy our flowers in person on the day, I didn’t want to spend a lot. Tahnee was so accomodating and helpful from the very start, and she talked me through different alternatives to achieve the look I had in mind within budget.
Favourite details from your wedding?
I’m not just saying this because I’m answering these for our florist, but the florals were my favourite detail. Tahnee absolutely nailed the brief (and considering I didn’t give her much of a brief, it’s even more impressive). I also loved the variety of flowers Tahnee used, they looked incredible.
We are so glad we…
Eloped! We’ve always been quite a low key couple, so I loved how intimate and us it was. I look back on the photos, and I see genuine happiness. I know that weddings can be really stressful, but ours was the complete opposite, which I love.
Favourite moment from you wedding?
There’s so many. Nothing compares to being announced as Mr and Mrs for the very first time, but I also loved running around the city with our closest friends taking our photos. It was a really relaxed day, and I think that translated to the photos!
Any advice for future couples?
Remember that it’s your day. Do what makes you both happy, not what others want you to do. You won’t regret it, I promise.
