To help guide you on this green journey, allow us to provide you with some straightforward planting and care instructions that will ensure your succulent thrives in its new home. With just a few easy steps, you'll be well on your way to becoming a proud and successful succulent parent. So, let's dive in and discover the joy of nurturing this little plant!

Planting Steps

  1. To begin, choose a pot with and fill with well-draining soil.

  2. Next, gently remove the bottom leaves of your succulent, especially the ones that appear slightly shrivelled. This will allow the plant to focus its energy on new growth.

  3. Position your succulent on top of the soil and water well. During the summer months, water your succulent every few days. However, during the winter, reduce the watering frequency to every couple of weeks.

  4. Within a couple of weeks your succulent will start developing new roots!

  5. However, if you prefer a low-maintenance approach, you may choose to place your succulent in a garden bed that receives regular watering.

Happy planting!

Succulent Care Guide

Watering
To ensure the health and longevity of your succulents, it is crucial to understand their watering needs. Follow these guidelines to keep your plants thriving:
1. Thoroughly soak your arrangement: When watering your succulents, allow water to flow out of the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot. This ensures that every root receives an adequate amount of moisture.
2. Water only when the soil is completely dry: Succulents are resilient and capable of withstanding drought-like conditions. It is best to wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again. By placing your finger into the soil, about an inch deep, you can easily determine its moisture level. If the soil feels moist, hold off on watering. Only proceed when the soil is completely dry.
3. Underwater rather than overwater: Succulents have a strong preference for being underwatered rather than overwatered. Overwatering can lead to root rot, which is irreversible and detrimental to the plant's health. A shriveled appearance due to underwatering, on the other hand, is something succulents can recover from.
Remember, succulents are adapted to arid environments, and their ability to store water in their leaves and stems allows them to survive extended periods without regular watering.

Lighting

Succulents LOVE light. Place them out on a patio to keep them happy! If you would like to keep them inside, make sure they are getting plenty of natural light (I don’t recommend keeping them inside but some people insist they can keep them alive inside!)

Succulents will stretch out and get really tall with their leaves spread out a lot if they are not getting enough light.

Keep your succulent out of the hot afternoon sun to avoid it getting burnt - again, a patio is usually the perfect place!

Growing / Replanting

Your succulents are growing plants so over time they will grow and start looking a little wild (I honestly think this is the beauty of them though! They change so much over time and might start growing out of the pot - they have a mind of their own!)

If your pot starts looking to full or overgrown you can take out some plants and replant them into a bigger or different pot. You can also plant them in your garden if you like! Just plant them somewhere that is out of the afternoon sun so they don’t burn in summer.
